Gallery show for the Eisner winner!

It's a little before midnight now, and I'm getting ready for all the crazy happening tomorrow. I'll finally see Dark Knight, and then I'll head over to the Diane Tanios Gallery in Chicago to prepare the walls for my group show. I've never been in a gallery show before, so I'm a little unused to the process.

I know two of the other artists in the show, Tony Akins (Jack of Fables) and Alex Wald. We're all part of the Chicago comics lunch group, kindova JLA of Chicago comics artists. I don't know and haven't met Jeffrey Zwirek and Elisabeth Belliveau but the work looks beautiful and thoughtful and I'm proud to be in the room with them.

The show opens at 6pm on August 1, and runs all month. The gallery is at 3243 N Broadway in Chicago.

I'll have a small selection of original art posted, for display and sale. Even if you're not planning on buying any wall art, come on by and check out some fantastic drawings, or at least get some free wine and cheese. Mmmm, cheese!

I am, of course, doing all of this in Chicago. I've skipped San Diego this year, where I could have picked up my shiny new Eisner! Brad Meltzer and I won it for Best Single Issue, JLA #11. All the clever storytelling tricks were in the script. He was the idea man on that book. He honestly understands my craft about as well as I do. Props to the editor, Eddie Berganza, who brought the team together, and colorist Art Lyon, who made it look shiny but neither of whom get Eisners. It takes a lot of people to make a comic like that, but only me and Brad get the trophies.

Hope to see ALL of you Friday!
