Thought I'd post an image of this year's Christmas card. It was all done "in camera". No Photoshop tricks were used to create this photograph.

Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together

Just finished the latest Bryan Lee O'Malley opus, Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together (4th in the series). I've enjoyed the whole series, but I thought the story arc on #3 was weak. Story kinda wandered, didn't build up to much. #4 is everything I loved about the series, with bonus....

First off, you have the second to last page. It's got a Zander Cannon drawing, which is both the finest drawing of Scott Pilgrim ever, and one of the best drawings I've seen Zander draw. Well worth the price of admission. And the page after that made me laugh out loud.

You may not be the kinda person who pays $11.95 US to get a single reproduction Zander drawing. But there are other fine things between #4's covers! It is the urtext of life in modern North America, where social realism means acknowledging that floating coins should appear when you kick someone's ass.

Oh, but no superheroes. It's about a 23 year old slacker wannabe rockstar in Toronto. His budding romance with an American package delivery/subspace-skating ninja. And his circle of friends, all of whom are smarter and more together than him (obviously, because he has to "Get It Together").
